Yep, that's me. |

Scary, huh? Where's the mice when you need them? |
WELCOME!
First Name: David (most just call me Dave)
Middle name: William.
Born: May 24, 1955. In Cincinnati, Ohio.
Died: Well, that remains for some undetermined time,
in some undisclosed location.
Parents: I'm the only son of Carol, from Cincinnati, Ohio &
William from Richford, Vermont -- they met in the Army while stationed at Camp Killmer, New Jersey.
I never really got to know my father, as he and Mom were divorced before
I was three years old. He died in August, 1986, about the time I first began wanting to try to look him up.
Education: Graduated from High School in 1973, from College
in 1978, and Grad School in 1981.
Married to: Bonnie... we met in October, 1978, and
married September 29, 1979. Children: Sara, Lindsay & Evan
Where I've Lived: I have lived in Ohio and Oklahoma (my
college years). Since marriage, I have lived throughout the State of Ohio: Cincinnati, Dayton, Lockington, Brookville,
Zanesville, Springfield, Johnstown, Belpre... and now Batavia, just outside of Cincinnati. We've moved a lot in the
last 28 years. I'm tired of moving.
Hobbies and Interests:
Old Time Radio is by far
my most enjoyable hobby. For me, listening to an old radio broadcast from the 1930's or 40's is considerably more entertaining
than much of what poses on TV for entertainment today. (I'll give you a link to one of my favorite pages, elsewhere on this
site.)
Listening to the broadcasts (and collecting them) is my primary
pleasure, but in addition to the broadcasts I collect Premiums,
those wonderful trinkets given away by the sponsors of the show for
just a boxtop or at most a quarter. In fact, I lust for that mint-condition luminous dragon's-eye ring that
was selling for more than $1500 last time I checked on eBay.
Other Interests:
Camping and Canoeing, Deer Hunting, Bicycling,
and Golf. Unfortunately, I'm not nearly so active as I would like to be. (The problem with being
too sedentary and too out of shape.)
Reading: Give me a good
detective story, like a Sherlock Holmes or a Hercules Poirot intrigue; or a thriller by Tom Clancy; or a western by Louis
L'Amour -- and I will be lost in another world altogether. J.R.R. Tolkien "Lord of the Rings" is about the best in fantasy
the world has to offer. And then: there is Steinbeck -- the world's greatest author.
Music: I am
as much at home listening to Classical, as to Country, to Jazz as to Pop. Even Rap... well... some of it.
Genealogy: It's been
so cool tracing my roots, learning about my heritage. Learned some interesting things, like the ancestor on the Edwards' side
of the family, who had a wife in Cincinnati, a wife in Hamilton, and a wife in Dayton... ALL AT THE SAME TIME! (Must
have been a traveling salesman!)
